My First Transfer....West Adenta

The Church is strong in Ghana!

Hello Mom!
I got transferred to West Adenta! It's not too far from Accra. My new companion is Elder Caleb. So far I'm not too fond of him. He is incredibly sarcastic, constantly makes me feel inferior and is going home in 3 months so he doesn't exactly care too much. Really frustrating, and our personalities are polar opposites of each other. So far I've just been really frustrated trying to adjust to everything.
Adenta is a pretty nice place, they have a ward here which is awesome! The ward seems really good and very supportive so I'm excited about that. Despite all the differences and frustrations the Lord has a reason as to why I'm here with Elder Caleb so I'll be looking for that reason haha
That's really exciting about Bailey! Jeez I wonder if she'll know who I am when I get home haha. Anyways I'm sorry about the price of shipping. That is crazy! The other elders have they're parents mail them in first class envelopes (the white bubble wrap ones) and they usually don't take too long to get here and they say the shipping is a lot less. Sorry about the price :/
Well this next week I'll be excited to see Elder Bednar so I'll let you all know how that goes but as for now evertything is going as well as they can, being in a new area and all. Tell everyone that I love them!

As a missionary change is the inevitable constant. I hope James gets feeling better about is new comp and the opportunities that are waiting for him. I am posting this so you who are quietly reading his blog can see and feel the feelings he is having and therefore are better informed as to what we should be praying for, for our missionaries everywhere.

Working on through the new year......

Hey Mom!
How are you? It was wonderful to be able to talk to you on Christmas! I hope that everything went well and that the Family was able to have a great Christmas!
This week has been really good but very busy! I've been doing a lot of traveling lately which is fun and all but it starts to get old very quickly for three reasons. 1 it cuts our teaching time in half or sometimes it even takes the whole day 2 It gets expensive! Haha I'm only living on 85 bucks a month and cabs are sooo expensive! and 3 it makes our clothes super dirty and hand washing takes forever.
Haha but aside from the traveling I've been doing good, tired, but good.
Since the new year is just around the Corner I thought I'd share a few of my goals with ya :)
I would like to have the Old Testament finished by July..very possible Finish the New Testament in the remainder of the year I would like to not gain any weight--the food here is crazy heavy and a lot of the thinner guys gain a little...Oh and I would also like to read through the Book of Mormon a second time. I'll probably be finished by the end of January with my first go through What are some goals that the family has? This past week Elder Moss and I have been having a lot of lessons with Muslims. It's been interesting. Generally they approach us very close minded and try as hard as they can to disprove the Bible. To use it against itself. But we were able to meet this man named Useph. He is 22 and after our initial contact with him it took us over a week of going to his house every day before we were able to sit down with him for a second time. He is obviously Muslim but is very interested in the Book of Mormon. He has agreed to read portions we give him and also to pray, and we also explained to him the last paragraph in the introduction page. It basically states that if this book is true than Christ IS the Saviour of the world. He's agreed to read, ponder and pray and he understands that if he gets an answer from God that the book is true it also means that Christ was much more than a Prophet-as many Muslims believe. Its going to be very interesting how this man progresses. We'll be seeing him tomorrow hopefully Anyways send my apologies to Pops...It doesn't look like I'll be able to send him a letter this week (time is soooo short) anyways let him know that I got a really good laugh at what Derek said :)
Well I love you all and will talk to you soon!
